Montessori child

Thank you for your interest in Bozeman Summit School (BSS). BSS is a (501)(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Bozeman, Montana. The school encourages academic excellence and a life-long passion for learning through individualized attention to each child’s unique abilities and needs. Children flourish with low student/teacher ratios, small classroom sizes and a safe and caring environment. Our high-quality teaching staff provide a challenging and creative curriculum based on proven Montessori principles of exploration, discovery, development and achievement.

The primary goal of our school is to assist children in reaching their highest academic and social potential by striking their imagination and igniting their intrinsic love for learning. Bozeman Summit School offers a challenging and creative curriculum that promotes the development of social, emotional and physical skills as well as cognitive understanding and academic growth. Each child is challenged based on his or her individual needs within multi-age classrooms. The BSS curriculum encourages children to work in groups as well as individually to promote strong character, self-confidence, self-discipline, respect, cooperation and a true excitement for learning. The school's peaceful, caring environment nurtures empathy and strong human values. We hope our goal resonates with your philosophy for educating your child.

What We Believe About Education

It is our firm conviction that each child is not only unique, but intelligent and talented in their own right. We acknowledge that all children learn at different speeds, in different modalities and that they have special areas of interest. The Montessori elementary classrooms are responsive environments where the needs and spirit of each child can be tended to individually with care and respect. The curriculum is formulated around the developmental, emotional, social and academic abilities of each child. Bozeman Summit School fosters the growth of inner discipline and independence thereby facilitating each child to form a healthy, confident self-image. The teacher is not the nucleus of the classroom; she is a supporter, confidante, guide, helper and resource to each child.
