Our Early Childhood program is licensed through the State of Montana as a licensed daycare facility. We maintain health and safety checks and maintain student/teacher ratios in accordance with state licensing requirements.

In our Early Childhood classroom, children build the foundation of their math and language skills as we focus on preparing the whole-child for success in life.

Social and Emotional

Our classroom is not only an academic space, but a micro-community where children continue their social and emotional development. Through our well-curated selection of materials and lessons children work on their fine and gross motor skills, social skills, independence, regulation of emotions, and more. We believe that when children have achieved emotional and social stability they blossom in their academics, so we focus on the growth of the whole-child at every stage of development.

Academics

In the Early Childhood years, we begin to lay the foundation of their academic success. Using materials, children can manipulate objects to begin to understand basic concepts – all of which get built upon through their Montessori journey. At this age, children have the opportunity to use all of their senses to stimulate their learning.

Kindergarten Enhancement Program

We want to ensure that students graduating from our Early Childhood classroom are prepared to move on to the Lower Elementary Montessori classroom or a traditional public school environment. As a compliment to our classroom curriculum, we offer all Kindergarten students a Kindergarten Enhancement program.

Our students enrolled as Kindergarteners are pulled out of the classroom a few afternoons through the week for focused lessons to further prepare them for the elementary years. In addition to focusing on solidifying the foundations for language and math, there is a greater sense of community among these peers and a focus on being the leaders and positive role models in the classroom.

At this age, students are also able to begin taking field trips – introducing them to the ideas of service to others, more hands-on learning, and a deeper sense of place.
